We are happy to inform you that in response to the impacts of COVID-19 on student learning, Language Arts and Math APEX Tutorials will be available for students to utilize over the summer. The APEX Learning Tutorials are focused, standards-based online instruction. APEX will target and address missed learnings and will provide students with educational opportunities to keep their brains academically active over the summer. Within each APEX Tutorial, the modules target Common Core State Standards. The four-part design of the APEX Tutorials allows students to Learn It, Try It, Review It, and Test It.
Focus on improvement - The Pre-test and Post-test have several questions at the highest level of mastery required. The Pre-test results will indicate areas in which the student still needs to work to master the content. After working through the indicated content, the goal is to improve the performance on the “Test It” and Post-test. If the student has trouble improving in a specific area, we encourage him or her to work in the supporting topics and try again.
Students who have just completed grades 6-8 will be given access to relevant Tutorials which align with the Mathematics and Language Arts class they completed in 2019-20 school year. At Fitch High School, grades 9-11 have been given access to tutorials in SAT, Algebra I, Geometry, U.S. History, and Biology.
Accessing the APEX Tutorials is made easy through a single sign in process. In short, once a student signs into their Chromebook (using their school assigned login access), they are logged into their APEX Tutorials. For maximum success, we recommend a minimum of a ½ hour per day.
