As part of this grant program Groton convenes a School Readiness Council comprised of the Superintendent (or his designee), the Mayor (or his designee), local early childhood educators, Kindergarten teachers, the School Readiness Liaison, parents, and representatives from local libraries and recreation agencies. The council meets four to five times per year and plans and oversees readiness related activities for young children.
