District Letter Regarding 3rd Term Report Cards

A few additional reminders pertaining to Parent Portal and student report cards:

  • Parents should be resetting their own passwords through the parent portal
  • Parents can also be sent a reminder of their login when requested through the parent portal
  • If a student has been withdrawn from Groton Public Schools, a parent no longer has access to the parent portal
  • A parent can view student's grades if they are within Groton School District only.  For example, if a student is enrolled in a New London Magnet school or Grasso Tech, they cannot be attached to a Groton account.  The other schools/districts will provide a unique username and password.
  • Report cards cannot be viewed through the mobile app.  Parents can log in to PowerSchool on their mobile device using a browser (Chrome), otherwise you must use a computer to view report cards.

Parent Survey on Distance Learning

Groton Public Schools is conducting a survey of parents with regard to Distance Learning.  If you have not already visited the district website, please click here to complete the Elementary School Survey.  Thank you.

Summer Activities!!

Congratulations!  You and your family have made it through 3 months of distance learning!  Give yourselves a round of applause and a hearty pat on the back!  Summer is here and we are all in dire need of some rest and relaxation.

As everyone takes the time to rest and recharge, here are a few items and activities to keep your minds and bodies active throughout the lazy summer months:

SB Butler Summer Reading Challenge

The Dunk Tank makes a return visit in September!!!

Summer Math Challenge

It’s important to keep learning and using our math skills during the summer months.  The Greg Tang Summer Math Challenge is the perfect opportunity to do that in a very fun way!!  Click on the link below and print out a game board for the grade you have just completed.  This will be your guide to the challenge.   If you are looking for more challenging activities, you are welcome to print out a game board for the grade you are going into in the Fall.  Or, if math is a little bit tricky for you, you can print out a game board from a previous grade.  Everyone who turns in a completed game board when we return to school will be invited to create ice cream sundaes to celebrate your summer work!  Fifth graders are also invited to participate, and we will recognize your work too if you return your game boards to me in the Fall.  In addition, Greg Tang is also offering prizes on his site for participating in the challenge.   I’m looking forward to seeing you all when we return to school!!  Have a terrific summer!!  Mrs. Fleming

Occupational Therapy Activities

Dunk Tank Shenanigans

As the school year draws to a close, the PTO wants to remind you that there will be 2 Executive Board positions available next year.  Both Co-Chair positions will become available at the close of July.  If you or someone you know would like to join the PTO Executive Board as a Co-Chair, please contact the PTO at  As always, thank you to all members of the PTO!!

LifeTouch has provided the following update with regard to yearbook printing & distribution:

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19, LifeTouch cannot fully commit to having the yearbooks printed in time for spring distribution.  It is becoming increasingly likely that yearbooks will not be printed until the fall.  Please rest assured - as soon as we have yearbooks in hand, we will work with families to get them distributed.  We will continue to keep the website updated as we have more information.

If you have any questions about this year's yearbook, please contact Gretchen Romilly at
