Help Make An Impact on Groton Students

Help Make An Impact on Groton Students
The image displays text that instructs a student to fill out a financial aid survey for their school.

Just log in to PowerSchool Parent Portal, go to Forms, and submit a survey for each child.

The survey is quick and confidential—it does not ask for income information and is used only to determine Groton Public Schools’ Impact Aid eligibility.

Filling out the form is one of the easiest ways you can make a positive impact on every student in Groton. Together, we can continue providing the very best for our schools, families, and community.

Why Your Impact Aid Form Matters?

Every year, Groton Public Schools receives $4 to $6 million in Federal Impact Aid funds. This program provides funding to local schools to make up for tax revenue lost when families live or work on federal property—such as the Naval Submarine Base, Beacon Point Homes, Electric Boat, the local casinos, or other federally impacted areas.

Impact Aid funds benefit all our schools and students, and are an essential part of our budget, helping to reduce the burden on local taxpayers. These funds help to provide:

  • High-quality educational programs
  • Athletics and extracurricular activities
  • Classroom resources
  • Student technology devices
  • Enriching learning opportunities
