GPS Registration News:
Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2021-22 school year!
Groton children who will be five years of age on or before January 1, 2022 may begin Kindergarten in September.
All K-5 familes are also encouraged to visit the our school locator map find your neighborhood schools for the 21-22 school year. Our two new elementary schools will be opening while three schools will close as part of the second phase of the Groton 2020 plan.
Complete the Online Registration Form. Once completed you may mail, fax, or drop-off* the required registration documents, outlined below. An appointment is not required. Note: The Groton Board of Education Central Office is currently closed on Wednesdays.
Note: Children enrolled in the Groton Public Schools elementary preschool programs who will be five years of age on or prior to January 1, 2022, do not need to register.
Please complete the following steps to register a school aged child with Groton Public Schools.
1) Complete the Online Registration Form.
2) Gather all the required documents to complete the registration process and drop them off at Groton Public Schools Central Office or mail or fax them to us.

* Registration of all school age children in grades K-12 takes place at: Central Office, 1300 Flanders Road, Mystic, CT 06355.
Registration Document Checklist
Please take a moment to go through the following checklist to make sure you bring all the appropriate documents and evidence needed to complete the registration process including proof of age (e.g. birth certificate, Passport, etc), Proof of Residency and Updated Medical Records.
Confidential student information related to your child’s registration cannot be sent via email. Please only send these documents via fax or USPS or drop off in person.
Proof of residency - Policy P 5112.2 Admission Requirements for Resident Students outlines acceptable proof of residency documentation.
Your Picture ID - Driver's license, military id, or passport
Proof of Your Child's Age - Hospital, Physician or Religious Certificate showing date of birth; Adoption Record, Birth Certificate, Previously verified school records.
Proof of guardianship, if you are not the birth parent or if you are divorced - Adoption papers, court order clarifying guardianship, guardianship papers from Probate Court, DCF form 603 (must be signed by DCF or legal designee)
Child's Immunization Record - Per Department of Public Health, proof of immunizations is required
Physical Exam - Proof of a physical exam is required to register . The health assessment form side one must be completed by the parent; side two is to be completed and signed by a health care professional.
