Groton Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (GASP)
Since 1999, the Groton Alliance for Substance use Prevention (GASP) has worked to reduce and prevent substance use among young people in Groton. GASP, a program of Ledge Light Health District, is a community-based substance use prevention coalition, guided by the Strategic Prevention Framework. GASP is currently funded by grants from the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and SERAC, with additional support from Ledge Light Health District. By pulling together businesses, healthcare professionals, parents, teens, schools, police, military, youth and health/social service agencies, the coalition has continued to advance their mission: To promote community wellness through evidence-based prevention and health promotion strategies.
GASP meets monthly on ZOOM. For more information about how you can support GASP or to get involved, please contact Carolyn Wilson, GASP Coordinator, at 860-446-3062.
