All clubs dismiss at 4:15 p.m.

Students may take the late buses at that time.


 

First Lego League Robotics Club - Fall Session

Wednesdays After School in Rm 117 with Mrs. Forstmann & Ms. Walsh starts Wednesday, September 21st. 

Permission slips outside Rm 117.  Meeting dates 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/26, 11/2.

 

French Club

Please join us in room 221 on Wednesday, September 28 for an informational meeting about our French club at GMS. You will learn about when we will meet, and some of the fantastique and exciting activities we will explore in the French-speaking world. We will start with some fun activities so everyone will have a chance to let the good times roll. 

Club permission slips will be handed out during our first meeting. Make sure that your parents/guardians know that you will take the late bus home at 4:15.

Drama Club

Run by Mrs. Macijauskas and Ms. Fedeli 

Meets in the Black Box Theater Mondays and Thursdays after school until the late bus.

Title of This Year’s Non-Musical Play:  Almost History: that whole space time continuum thing

Show dates are November 17th and 18th!

 

Student Council

Student Council is starting up again and looking for new members! This is a full year commitment with TWO Monday meetings per month. Our first meeting will be held on Monday, October 3rd in room 303.

If you have other commitments (sports, clubs, etc.) You must discuss when you will be able to come, or if you will be able to come with your coach or other teacher. 

In Student Council, we do many different activities. You must be ready to get dirty!

We:

  • Garden

  • Plan events, fundraisers, and spirit weeks

  • Do different projects (Posters, painting, etc.)

  • We send audio recordings of ourselves reading books for the Elementary schools

Come get an application from room 303, Ms. Irace’s room.

Make sure all permission slips are turned in by our first meeting on October 3rd.

 

Yearbook

Interested in the 2022-2023 GMS Yearbook Committee?

Get involved with your school community and take part in capturing all the exciting things happening in your school! 

*Pick up a permission slip in the 4th floor administrative office. 

First Yearbook Meeting will be held on Monday, October 5, 2022 in room 123 until late bus at 4:15pm. Permission slips are required to participate in the yearbook committee.

 

Newspaper Club

Meets every Wednesday, after school in room 301 with Ms. Mokrzewski.

Personal Finance Club

When: Wednesdays 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/26 

Where: Room 403 with Ms. Lambert 

Time: 2:45 to 4:15

This club will introduce you to a variety of personal finance topics and lay a solid foundation to understand the basics of finance and personal budgeting.  

The topics will involve checking accounts, saving accounts, types of credit, taxes, and general budgeting.

 

S.T.E.P.S (Striving Toward Empowerment Personal Success)

This program will meet on Mondays, in Room 121, until the late bus. The first meeting will be Monday, October 3rd.

It will be facilitated by representatives of S.T.E.P.S and volunteers from the Groton, New London and Norwich community. We will provide a positive environment where girls can grow confidence, speak freely about concerns, experience diversity, share ideas and have fun at the same time.
