How does this apply to me? Am I eligible? Yes, if you...

  • meet English language arts graduation requirements
  • demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English at “Intermediate Mid” level according to the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Language (ACTFL) standards in grade 10 or later
  • are a World Language learner, English Language Learner or Heritage/Native/At-home speaker

Do I need to be enrolled in the language course at Fitch?

No, but you do need to speak, write, read and understand proficiently. Plan now for this opportunity!

How do I qualify?

Contact your World Language teacher, ELL teacher or school counselor. There are several options:

  • Online AAPPL or STAMP test in French, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi and other language options -$20.00
  • IB Language B Spanish and French –ask your IB teacher or FHS IB Coordinator
  • ALIRA Latin test -$10.00
  • Heritage and home languages tests–Intermediate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, listening
  • ASL testing on request
