Welcome to Charles Barnum Elementary School

Dr. Charles Barnum Elementary School in Groton, CT maintains a positive school climate through a variety of student-centered, character building activities and celebration of achievement so that students are motivated and excited to learn. As a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School, we continually strive for new ways to enhance the academic experience for our students and maintain high expectations for all. Dr. Charles Barnum also has a strong connection with our military families; through our Anchored for Life Program, we help our students with the challenges of transient life. We believe our school is much more than just a building. Our “Life is Good” focus can be seen throughout our interactions among staff and students as well as our relationships with families and the community.
