About our Magnet - STEAM

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. By providing students opportunities in STEAM we believe our school will help develop the next generation of innovators and creative thinkers. Through STEAM based experiences, classes, units, and lessons we provide our students with a foundation in 21st century skills: creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

GPS Student Travel Reminder

We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday, April 19 from spring break and want to remind all families of the travel guidelines GPS implemented, based in part on the CDC "recommendations'', for the health and safety of our entire school community.

Domestic Travel: Students need to provide a negative test result (or adhere to a 10-day quarantine period to return to school). Please provide tests results to the school nurse at your child’s school. Rapid test results will be accepted.

International Travel: Please follow the posted CDC guidelines.

Student should not attend school if they are awaiting their test results, feeling ill, exhibiting any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, or in quarantine.

You do NOT need to get tested or self-quarantine if you are fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 3 months.

Only students entering grades K-5 and districted to attend one of Groton Public Schools may apply.
Students planning to attend their districted/neighborhood school do not need to complete the lottery application. Visit our School Locater Map if you need to identify your neighborhood school.
Families interested in a school other than their districted/neighborhood school may complete the application to enter the district lottery. On the application, you'll have the option to enter a 1st and 2nd choice, if desired.
Students at CKMS and NEA who accepted a magnet seat in a prior year lottery and plan to stay at their school do not need to submit an application, unless you are interested changing your school.
