Connecticut Teacher Residency Program

Do you want to become a certified teacher?

The CT Teacher Residency Program is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 cohort in one of their regional cohorts across Connecticut. Certification pathways include Elementary Education (grades preK-6), Special Education (grades preK-12), and Middle Grades Math (grades 4-8).

Resident candidates will be enrolled in rigorous coursework for 14 to 18 months and serve in a paid residency position with benefits in a mentor teacher’s classroom for the duration of an entire school year.  Resident candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree and an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or greater, unless approved by a waiver. Residents are eligible for a full-time teaching position upon successful completion of the program and certification requirements, and are expected to serve as a teacher in the partner school district for a minimum of three years.
